With 88,434 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, computer information systems is the 9th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, computer information systems graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $54,066 and had an average of $26,787 in loans still to pay off.
For this year’s “Schools Highly Focused on CIS Major” ranking, we looked at 1,487 colleges that offer a degree in computer information systems. The colleges and universities that top this list are recognized because their computer information systems program is one of the largest majors offered at the school.

Out of the 1,487 schools in the Schools Highly Focused on CIS Major that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Phoenix - Hawaii landed the #5 spot on the list. This small school is located in Honolulu, Hawaii, and it awarded 12 ’s CIS degrees in 2020-2021.
